ABOUT
A new owner and new brand re-introduces a 20-year old local, independent bookstore selling new, used and rare books in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

CHALLENGE
Jackson Hole Book Trader was established in the late 1990s and the brand and store itself were perceived as musty, dusty and in need of a make-over. Susie Temple bought the store in 2016, and set to work updating the interior and curating a compelling collection of books to display and sell. Ms. Temple needed thoughtful marketing guidance to help establish a brand that reflected her vision for the bookshop as a community gathering place and literary hub with a distinct voice and viewpoint.

SOLUTION
Jackson Hole Book Trader partnered with Creative Curiosity to create a new brand identity through a new logo and print, as well as branded merchandise, and the company’s first ever website and social presence. The brand had to reflect the aesthetics of the store as well as the new editorial perspective of Jackson Hole Book Trader.

Branding
About
This creative team held multiple strategy sessions to understand Susie’s vision and goals as the new owner. The look evolved to an elegant,
simple logo design, with a  traditional serif typeface accompanied by warm colors inspired by classic Old English bookshops.


Print and Collateral
About
With an established brand look and feel, we designed identity materials including business cards, letterhead, note cards and envelopes, and bookmarks - Printing everything together helped save a little money
which was better used to splurge on metallic gold ink and high-quality papers for a luxury feel. Creative Curiosity worked with Alpha Graphics in Idaho Falls to achieve the design vision on time and in budget.


Digital Design
About
Venturing into the digital age for the very first time, Jackson Hole Book Trader web presence is a simple landing page designed to give users access to basic information. Users can find contact information and hours, basic info on the collection and information on selling used books.
The simplicity of the website continues for JHBT on Social Media with a straight-forward strategy and branded graphics developed by Creative Curiosity to announce the remodeling and grand re-opening on strategically selected social networks.


Packaging & Product Design
About
JHBT branded merchandise includes branded leather journals and pens for sale at the store, a variety of recycled shopping bags and a reusable cotton tote.
Creative Curiosity managed production of all items with multiple vendors to deliver high-quality materials on time and within budget.


Exterior and Interior Signage

About
Signage extended the brand both inside and outside of the store including an exterior building sign, double sided highway sign, and
translucent vinyl for the front doors with the hours and the mark. Creative Curiosity managed the production with local sign maker Jackson Signs.
